Les Grandes Traversées du Jura
(GTJ – Great Jura Crossings)

The GTJ association has the task of promoting the development of non-motorised open country hiking in the French-Swiss Jura Massif. It designs itineraries and coordinates their provision and maintenance, bringing together and managing hiking operators in the Jura Mountains.

180 members

• 150 tourism and accommodation sites to welcome hikers.

• Regional or departmental tourism and hiking structures, including the Fédération Française de Randonnée Pédestre (French Hiking Association), the Comité régional de Cyclisme (Regional Cycling Committee – FFC), the Ligue régionale de cyclotourisme (Regional Cycling Tourism League – FFCT), the Espace Nordique Jurassien (Nordic Jura Space), Romandie Ski de Fond (Romandie cross-country skiing) and the regional and departmental tourism committees.

• Municipal and inter-municipal structures in charge of maintaining the GTJ trails.

• Tourist information offices, businesses and taxi companies

• Hiking holiday providers

  • Promoting roaming in the Jura Mountains
  • Developing roaming for hikers
